Programme Intended Learning Outcome

Upon successful completion of this programme, students will be able to:

  • Explain knowledge of the core concepts, central ideas, and key theoretical frameworks of cultural studies;
  • Interpret and explain space, social practices, and identity from the perspective of culture;
  • Relate to and communicate effectively with people from culturally diverse backgrounds;
  • Examine and interpret cultural texts and products in relation to their cultural contexts;
  • Explore problems, gather information, carry out basic research, and propose solutions to address problems responsibly both individually and as part of a team;
  • Relate major ideas in arts and humanities, science and technology, and society and organizations to cultural studies.

Further Studies Pathways

This programme has been offered since 2017-18. Articulation possibilities include Bachelor’s degree programmes in City University of Hong Kong, Hong Kong Baptist University, The Chinese University of Hong Kong, Lingnan University, and the University of Hong Kong.


Career Prospects

Graduates from this programme will be able to find employment in the field of arts and culture, publishing, marketing, advertising, media, journalism, public relations, events management and research.
